Thank you for being a member of NRA. Our association is
the premier membership organization for professionals
and organizations serving people with disabilities. In
California, we have two chapters, CRA-North and CRA-South.
I have certainly enjoyed serving as your CRA-South president
this year. Laurie Yeager, CRA-South President-elect, will
be assuming the president role in July of this year, as
I will be returning to school to pursue an RhD.
Thanks to the leadership of CRA-South's Past-President
James Michael Yates, our board is working hard to update
our Constitution and Bylaws and bring them into line with
NRA's restructuring plan. As a CRA-South member, you will
vote on these changes at our annual fall conference. Please
contact us if you can recommend any speakers or advertisers
for this event.
Laurie Yager represents us at the California Counselor
Licensure Coalition. Please contact her at LayBarge@aol.com
if you are interested in California licensure for rehabilitation
Joe Turpin is spearheading a legislative tea for our local
and state representatives. If you would like to participate,
please contact him at email@example.com.

status official. Treasurer Don Renfro will now get to
deal with the IRS on an annual basis.
Katrina Ungos, Membership chair, and Dee Ferguson, Secretary,
are also dedicated to improving the membership and CRA-South
Board activities in Southern California. Since returning
from a three month medical leave, our newsletter editor
Margie Cooper, has done a wonderful job in getting this
Without the hard work of board members such as these and
our other dedicated members, rehabilitation concerns would
not be nearly so well represented in Southern California.
Please join us at a board meeting or get involved in planning
the Fall conference.
We have an active Student Chapter at Cal State San Bernardino
and would really like to get chapters started at Cal State
Los Angeles and San Diego State. If you are a student
and would like us to visit your University, please let
